Why Can’t I Sign Up or Register Using Social Media Accounts?

Modified on Sat, 26 Jul at 4:38 PM

I’ve intentionally disabled sign-ups or registrations through social media accounts like Facebook, Google, or X (formerly Twitter). The reason is simple but important — to avoid spam and ensure privacy-focused, meaningful communication.

Over the years, I’ve realised that social media registrations often open the door to bot-driven or careless submissions. Many people use disposable logins or connect with auto-filled profiles they never monitor again. This clutters the system, leads to irrelevant requests, and makes it harder for me to provide thoughtful help to those who genuinely need it.

Since I manage all support and communication personally (yes, just me — Alok Sharma), I prefer to keep things clean and human. Requiring manual sign-up with an email ensures that:

  • You’re genuinely interested in reaching out.
  • You can easily receive and track replies.
  • I can reference past conversations securely and respectfully.
  • Your data stays private and doesn’t get mixed up with third-party tracking.

Thank you for understanding and supporting this personal, no-noise approach. If you ever need help or prefer not to create an account, you can still contact me via the Ticket System — but creating an account helps you manage your support history better.
